They were accompanied home from Humboldt, Iowa, by Miss Kay Volberding who is visiting at the home of her aunt, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Norton. The boys took in two major league ball games en route, seeing the St. Louis-Brooklyn contest at St. Louis, and a Yankee-Washington Senators game at New York. They state that they play a little better brand of ball there than in the Umatilla county league. Other places of interest included Cumberland, Maryland; Washington, D. C.; New York fair, and visited friends in Georgia and North Caro lina. Party Returns From Canada Trip Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Warner and Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Swayze returned Tuesday evening from a 10-day trip nto Canada. Interesting places of their itinerary included Spokane, Wn., Bonners Ferry, Cranbrook, B. C., Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise and Vancouver. They covered 2,340 miles on the trip. Mr. Warner stated that they saw considerable rough country and saw several deer cross ing the road. Fishermen Return Empty Handed Walter Hamm, Bill Hamm and Joe Reeves formed a party of discourag ed fishermen Monday following an excursion to Celilo Falls. The men failed to connect with a single sal mon, and to make matters worse, they were forced to see the Indians land numerous salmon, many times two in a net.
