The Grange and Townsend clubs
are giving a dance Saturday, Septem
ber 14 at the Grange hall. A good
crowd is desired.
Miss LaVerne Baker, who is teach
ing at Vale the coming year, was
home a few days this week as the
Vale schools were closed because of
infantile paralysis.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Barlow and
daughter Carma left Friday for
Portland and other Willamette valley
points where they visited relatives.
Among others were Mrs. Barlow’s
parents. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mef-
ford of Lebanon. Mrs. Mefford re
cently suffered an injury to her
shoulder from a fall and still is un
able to use that arm.
Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Dobson of
Camas, W’n., visited at the home of
her brother, George Funkhauser.

the teachers at the school house F ri
day evening. After a program con
sisting of songs by the ladies trio,
short talks by the teachers and an
interesting contest refreshments were
served in the cafeteria. A large
crowd was in attendance.
