CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES
M |S THE UNIVERSE, INCLUDINO
I MAN, EVOLVED BY ATOMIC
FORCE?” was the subject of the
Lesson-Sermon In all Churches of
Christ Scientist, on Sunday, June
23.
The Golden Text was, “Lo, he that
formeth the mountains, and createth
the wind, and declareth unto man
what is his thought, that maketh
the morning darkness, and treadeth
upon the high places of the earth.
The Lord, The Ood of hosts, Is
his name" (Amos 4:13).
Among the citations which com
prised the Lesson-Sermon was the
following from the Bible: "Thus
saith God the Lord, he that created
the heavens, and stretched them
out; he that spread forth the earth,
and that which cometh out of it;
he that giveth breath unto the
people upon it, and spirit to them
that walk therein. I am the Lord:
that is my name: and my glory will
I not give to another, neither my
praise to graven images" (Isa. 42:-
5.8).
The Lesson-Sermon also included
the following correlative passages
from the Christian Science textbook,
“Science and Health with Key to
the Scriptures" by Mary Baker
Eddy: “The human mortal mind,
by an inevitable perversion, makes
all things start from the lowest in
stead of from the highest mortal
thought. The reverse is the case
with all the formations of the im
mortal divine Mind. They proceed
from the divine source; and so. in
tracing them, we constantly ascend
in infinite being" (p.189).
For the third successive year, Ore
gon wheat growers will be able in
1941 to protect themselves from crop
hazards through the use of federal
crop insurance, says an announce
ment by Will Steen, chairman of the
Oregon state AAA committee.
Next year’s crop insurance plan
will be practically identical with the
program now in effect, with the ma
jor exception that the clising date
for accepting applications on winter
r eg
wheat will be earlier. It will be
necessary for winter wheat growers
to apply for their insurance and pay

JOHN DEERE TRACTORS USING LOW-COST FUEL, 100%
Using the figures of fuel consumption of
John Deere Tractors as determined in im
partial tests mentioned above and averaging
the cost of fuel over the entire United States,
we find that the John Deere Tractor will do
a certain amount of work on a dollar's worth
of fuel. Tor the sake of comparison, this
figure is set at 100%
TRACTORS USING LOW GRADE GASOLINE. 71.1%
Then using the fuel consumption figures
of five different makes of tractors with low-
grade gasoline and averaging the cost of low-
grade gasoline for the United States, we find
that with the same dollar these tractors will
do only 71.6^ as much work as the John Deere
Tractor. Fuel costs are going up.
