1939, h a s been estab lish ed as th e
d ea d lin e for accep tan ce of a p p lic a ­
tio n s an d prem ium p ay m en ts in th e
co u n ty office for th o se g ro w ers w ho
w ish to in su re th e ir 1940 w h e a t
crop.
A ccording to re g u la tio n s, th e a p ­
p lic a tio n m u st be sig n ed an d on file
in th e co u n ty office a n d th e p rem ­
ium paid before th e crop is seeded
th is fall, or before O ctober 30,
w h ich ev er d a te occurs first. T h e
co u n ty office Is p rep ared to ta k e a p ­
p lic a tio n s for crop in su ra n c e on 1940
crops or give any in fo rm a tio n p e r­
ta in in g to th e sam e.
O ut of 708 policies in effect in
O regon th is p ast season, in d em n ity
p a y m e n ts to ta lin g 44,000 b u sh els on
52 policies have been m ade to d a te ,
a n d o th e rs a re p en d in g . P rin c ip a l
cau ses of losses w ere la te fro sts, d ry
w e a th e r, an d th e u ly h a il sto rm in
M orrow county.
