Phone 571 Hermiston, Ore. this week. Mr. and Mrs. A H. Cable and W. A. Mikesell made a trip to Pendle ton Tuesday. Their daughter Dorene spent the day with her grandmother, Mrs. W. A. Mikesell. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Colpitts are the parents of a son born March 6th at St. Anthony’s hospital. Robert Lorentz of Seattle came Saturday to visit his aunt, Mrs. Mary Harr over Sunday. Mr. Lorentz is a traveling salesman. Mr. and Mrs. Baxter Hutchison were Saturday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Seeley. Mrs. J. H. Ryland left the first of the week with Mr. Ryland’s sister for Walla Walla, where she will re ceive medical care. Mr, Ryland’s sister is a trained nurse. Mrs. Annetta Barham has been ill for the past week. The Alfred Shipp family has moved to Harper. Mrs. Percy Corman is ill with a cold this week. Forrest Moore is the first farmer in Columbia district to plant pota toes. He put in an acre Saturday. Charley Epperson also planted pota toes the first of the week. Roy Grant of Stanfield was at the Baxter Hutchison home Sunday. He went to Pendleton in the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Hutchison who were down for the day. Other visitors at the Hutchison home were Mrs. Mary Harr and Miss Myrthena Martin. Elmer James was a visitor in this district Saturday. Roy Vanscoyk and family have moved into the Phipps place. The family came from Kansas one year ago, and have been living on the Jesse Goff place, near the airport. Lois Hutchison came home Sun day from Pendleton. She will be employed at the H. K. Dean home for the next two weeks. Mrs. Chester Hunt and Mrs. U. Edwards called on Mrs. E. P. Hall, Friday afternoon. W. B. Foster is building a turkey brooder house for Doyle Hunt on the Stanfield project. Helen Jendrzejewski and Barbara Reid arrived home last Friday to spend spring vacation with their parents. Both are students at O.S.C. Arilda Foster spent from Thurs day of last week until Sunday at the home of her parents. She is em ployed at The Dalles.
