costumes, a prom inent p a rt of w hich
was composed of burlap. Boys c a r­
ried dolls and g irls w ere array ed in
cast off shoes of b ro th ers or fath ers
and wore the la test styles in b u rlap
dresses.
In the evening th e in itia tio n pro­
per was carried out to th e tu n e of
resounding paddles, electric b attery
jo lts interspersed w ith a snack of
sy n th e tic fried angle worms. The
frosh took th e ir in itia tio n as good
sp o rts and deserve th e com m enda­
tion of all u pper class people in th is
regard. A fter th e program was over
and should have been fo rg o tten ,
few upper classm en added to it by
ta k in g some of th e freshm en on one
w ay rides, forcing them to w alk
back. W hile probably th is a
sta rte d in th e sp irit of th o u g h tless­
ness. still it was poor re q u ita l to of­
fer a crew of frosh who had been
th e best of sports in th e re g u la r pro­
gram .
