They have met regularly tw ice a m onth and held m any spec ial m eetings, m any of w hich carried past m idnight. In addition, d u rin g the days betw eeen m eetings, they have given th e ir tim e and atten tio n to the w ork of d irectin g th e o rg a n i zation and to th e thousand and one d etails of construction. All th is has been done for the “ m u n ific en t” sa lary of >3 per m onth allowed by th e natio n al REA. N ot w ith stan d in g , board mem bers have given th is public service w ith in te re st and devotion to th e w elfare of th e m any com m unities w hich are now being served by a modern pow er system . These men are all of fine c h a racter and su b sta n tia l c iti zenship and m em bers of the associa tio n m ay well consider them selves fo rtu n a te in h av in g secured the se r vice of such a board. A new board w ill be chosen A ug u st 10th. It is wise to consider who a re to succeed these men. N one are seeking a re tu rn to the task of d i rec tin g th e progress of th e system, but th e ir experience and in te rest w ill be valuable if retain ed on the directorship.
