T his question has been in controversy for several m onths and in a le tte r received th is week the contentions of the local board were g ra n te d in full. T he le tte r sta te d : “We are pleased to inclose a schedule of rate s for your project, em bodying th e basic ra te schedule as recom mended by your board of d irec to rs.’ T he schedule is as follows: F irs t 12 KW H, or less, >1.00 per m o n th ; N ext 28 KW H, 7 cents per KW H per m onth; N ext 40 KWH cents per m onth; N ext 120 KWH, 2.5 cents per KWH per m onth; Over 200 KW H, 1.7 5 cents per KWH per It is estim ated th a t 12 KWH Per m onth ra te w ill fu rn ish lig h t for th e average sm aller type farm home In th is te rrito ry . T his w ill be a t the r a te of 8 1-3 cents per KWH. The n ex t 28 KW H ra te w ill be a t 7 cents or a t a cost of ’ p lu s the >1.00. w ill m ake >2.98 for th e first 4 0 k ilo w a tt hours, or suf flcien t to cover th e needs of th< la rg e r users. In excess of 40 K W H th e rates become less according to am ounts used. The ra te s are arran g e d to include general resid en tial and farm uses in cluding lig h tin g , incidental ap p li ances, refrig eratio n , cooking, and pow er for m otors up to and includ in g five horse power, or a to ta l con nected load of not in excess of sev en and a half horse power. R ates are provided for uses of elec tric ranges, and if th e to ta l use is 500 k ilo w a tt hours, the last 300 sh a ll be billed a t 1.2 cents per kwh. Schools, churches and public halls w ill have a m inim um rate of >1- per year. .. , T he ra te schedule is considered v ery reasonable, As th e use of juice is grad u ally increased th ro u g h ad_ d itio n of more extended lig h tin g and th e uses of the various kinds of ap pliances in the homes ana on the farm , it is expected th a t the board of d irectors w ill be able to reduce prices in th e ra te schedule. Mr. Shaver rep o rts th a t th e crew has dug 18,200 feet of d rain ag e d itch on th e S tan field project, re paired and p u t in 16 cu lv erts, laid 900 feet of 16 Inch concrete pipe cut one m ile of road brush, b u ilt a dam 200 feet long and six feet high to care for seepage w ater w hich will be reclaim ed for irrig a tio n purpo ses.
