AL BAN Y — The effectiveness of the paradlchlorobenzene treatment for peach and prune root borers has been demonstrated in the Paul Rolf prune orchard near Lebanon. Last year these trees showed an average of two or three root borers to each tree when Inspected by Hr. Rolf and County Agent F. C. Mullen. The “paradl" treatment was given, and thia year Mr. Rolf and Mr. Mullen were able to find only one borer to 25 or 30 trees. Titus. Christian minister, at his home. The bride was dressed in white with pink rosebuds in her hair. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Roy O’ Mohundro, Ed Pratt, Miss Orella Holloway, Everett Holmes, all of Imbler, and Miss Lenna Neill of La Grande. The couple plan to make their home in Imbler where Mr. Pratt has employment. The first high school student body meeting of the year was held last Wednesday. Lilly Rauch was elect ed president, Malcolm O’Brien, vice president, and Cecilia Healy, secre tary. It was decided to give a play this fall. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Estle and daughter, Joy Sue of Hermiston were dinner guests at the E. B. Wat tenburg home Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Steward of Seattle were charlvaried at the bride’s home Sunday evening. She is better known as Audrey Moore. Dinner guests at the J. S. Moore home Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smithers and daughter of Lexington, and Miss Josephine Rhea of Stanfield. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Finch at tended grange at Lena Sunday af ternoon. Deer hunters from here this week are Oscar McCarty, Sloan Thomson, A. E. Wattenburger and son, Earl Dorene Whltherite of Pasco spent the week at the A. B. Wattenburger home. Fred Rauch went to Lexington Tuesday. Mrs. Joyce Smith was home over the week end. E. B. Wattenburger and children were at the Walter Wigglesworth home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bleakney w est to Celilo Sunday after salmon. Don Tannehill has taken Peter Farley’s place at Barlow’s garage while Peter attends school. Many Boardman people attended the Pendleton Round Up Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cramer left Monday morning for their home in Spokane after visiting on the pro ject for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Finch at tended Mary Cunha’s wedding at the Catholic church in Hermiston Satur day. She was married to Frank Correa of Echo. The 4-H club boys returned from Salem Monday. Ouy Moore received a first and second prize, and Jack Healy received a third and fourth prize on their sheep. E. B. Wattenburger and A. E. Wattenburger were Walla Walla vi sitors Saturday. Charles Bartholomew spent Satur day In The Dalles. Mrs. Lucy E. Rogers was a visi tor at Pine City last week. Roy Neill returned from Montana where he has been shipping sheep. Miss Dora E. Moore spent the week end with Mrs. Joyce Smith and attended the Irrigon tair. Mr. and Mrs. George Currin called Sunday at the John Harrison home. Fred Rauch was a caller In Stan field Sunday. Mrs. C.
