T he parade w ill be a big fea tu re of th e show th is year, s ta rtin g prom p tly a t 10:00 o’clock S aturday m orn in g u n d e r th e supervision of E. P. Dodd. All p a rtic ip a n ts are asked to assem ble before 9 :0 0 o’clock on the stre e t leading from the fair grounds, past th e F arm B ureau buildings, ac ross th e railro ad trac k , and along th e stre e t leading to th e the h ig h w ay dow n H u rlb u rt avenue. The f a ir queen and her a tte n d a n ts will be followed by all irrig a tio n d istric t floats. T he ro u te w ill be from W a lk er’s Service S ta tio n alo n g M ain street: to th e H erm iston H otel and then n o rth around R o rh m an ’s corner, to th e O. & W. depot, and p ast the C ooperative Cream ery, and west alo n g H erm iston avenue w here the parade w ill disband. T he floats for th e cooperatives w ill form on th e ^ r e e t in fro n t of th e cooperative buildings. All busi ness flo ats w ill assem ble on th e s tre e t leading south from th e F arm B u reau tow ard th e Thom as Campbell home. The tu rk ey and poultry floats and individual farm floats w ill fall in lin e behind th e cooperative floats. The Round-Up Queen and a tte n d a n ts an d th e Round-U p riders will form in line behind the fa ir queen and d istric t floats, n ear th e d istric t b uilding. Im m ediately behind them w ill be th e CCC flo a t and boys in m a rc h in g position, followed by the Boy Scouts. A t th e Legion h all the school busses and school children w ill en te r th e parade. D irectors on horses and officers w ill be placed alo n g the lin e of m arch to direct th e various divis ions of th e parade. T he prem ium d a iry cattle, 4-H club stock, horses, S hetland ponies, rid e rs and p riv ate cars w ill form at th e f a ir grounds, and en ter th e p ar ade behind th e business floats. MAGPIE A N D CROW CONTEST CLOSES 4 R esu lts of the rodent erad icatio n co n test conducted by th e H erm iston Rod & Gun club have been announc ed by F ra n k B ilderback, president and W. L. Hamm, se creta ry , of th e club, who have kept th e records. T he record show s th a t 4014 eggs w ere collected, 847 young m agpies an d crows, 1183 old magpies, 162 old crow s. 144 old haw ks, 43 skunks. 34 ra ttle sn a k e s, and 12 coyotes. In 1936, 5518 eggs and young birds w ere destroyed, 843 old m agpies, 173 old crows, 132 haw ks, 64 ra ttle snakes. th ree weasels, 58 skunks an d six coyotes. In 1935 5592 eggs, an d 2725 birds were destroyed. Prizes for Parade Floats. Public Address System. Farm Exhibit Space Beserved. A public address system will be installed on th e fa ir g rounds next week by Mor-Tone Sound Service of w hich L. A. T he sta tio n w ill be connect ed by a telephone system supplied free by the local telephone com pany.
