THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2», 1936. IRRIGON By MRS. W. C. ISOM Mr. and Mrs. Loe and family of Alexandria, Nebraska, and Mr. and Mrs. Emery of Parsons, Kansas, vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Caldwell this week. Mr. Lee is a nephew of Mr. Caldwell and Mrs. Emery is a sister of Mrs. Caldwell, They enroute to their new home near Newport, Oregon. Mrs. Floyd McCullon of Boise, Idaho, arrived Monday to visit her sister Mrs. Lyle Eddy. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chaney and ▲. B. Chaney, his father, have moved to the E. Fagestrom place. Word was received here Monday of the birth, of a baby girl Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. E. Fagestrom at their new home at Roseburg, Ore. George Kendler is erecting a new garage on the place purchased re cently from A. R. Boulware. Mrs. Claude Linkhart is visiting relatives in Portland. THE HERMISTON HERALD, HERMISTON, OREGON. Gene Arnberg is having the upper story of his store building remodel led this week. Mr. and Mrs. Vancleve left for their new home in the Willamette valley the last of the week. Students in the entire school were busy posing for pictures last week. Miss Billie Markham is employed at the Montgomery Ward Co., ■tore in Pendleton. Mr. and Mrs Slaighter and fam- ily of Wallowa moved to the Kern place southwest of Irrigon last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reiks visited Prof, and Mrs. Kicker at Milton Saturday. They also inspected the new cannery while there. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grider and Mrs. Fred Ricks were Hermiston visitors Monday. The Smith Brothers and R. V. Jones and daughter Verna and son Willard returned Sunday from their two week’s hunting trip near Long Creek, Ore. They brought back two deer. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Isom enter- tallied at a six-thirty dinner Thurs day evening honoring the birthday of their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Char leen Isom. The guests were Mr. and Mr3. Earl Isom and little daughter Donna Joan, Mrs. Geo. Kendler and daughter Yvonne, and Mr. and Mrs. Batie Rand. The honoree received several nice presents and a pleasant evening was spent. Emmett McCoy and son Russell, and J. Berry of The Dalles, return ed from a hunting trip last week with a deer apiece. Mr. and Mrs. George Bleakman of Heppner were Saturday night and Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Isom. Mr. Bleakman called on a number of friends on the project Sunday. He is a candidate for judge of Morrow county. Mr. and Mrs. Eddy were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Williams Sun day night. Miss Mary Pope of Walla Walla, Wn., Albert Vieg, Harold Edwards and Miss Florence Christenson of Umatilla were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Rowell and family of Hermiston and Grayce Pearson were Sunday visitors at the John Grey home. Mary Alice Corpe and Margaret Clarke of Hermiston were Sunday dinner guests of Opal Stockard Sun day. Beulah Ryland attended a Hal lowe'en party at the James Todd home in Hermiston Saturday after noon. Mrs. Alice Wells is visiting rela tives in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thompson of Hermiston. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wells of Baker, Ore., and Ethan Bradford of Louden, Ore., were dinner guests at the John Grey home Monday eve ning. Mrs. Bill Linder was a luncheon guest of her daughter Mrs. M. Barber, received cuts and brui ses about the head and shoulders, and a fractured elbow Saturday night when his bicycle ran into a car at the road junction at Pumpkin Center, which was driven by Dale Wells. He was taken to the Hermis ton General hospital and is getting along nicely. Josephine Moyer of Hermiston and Willard Hutsell of Columbia were united in marriage Saturday, October 24th, in Walla Walla. They will make their home at the Dixson home while Mr. and Mrs. Dixson are away on a vacation trip in Cali fornia and Arizona. Barbara Reid, student at O.S.C., and James Reid of the army engin eer's office in Portland, spent the week end visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Reid. Mr. and Mrs. Ray and family are living on the lower Reid place. Rev. R. R Finkbiner, pastor of the Methodist church, visited in the district Friday. R. H. Stockard and C. Lynch re turned from southern Oregon, where they each bagged a deer. Mr. and Mrs. H. Hooker. Mr. and Mrs. B. Hutchison and Nellie Hook er were business visitors in Walla Walla, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. John Wojcik and daughters Jenevieve and Evelyn and Harry Hatfield, visited at the John Jendrzejewski home last week. Mr. Wojcik is a brother of Mrs. Jendrze jewski. Joe Hawkins of Adams visited at the Tom Wilson home over the week end. Loren Caldwell, a brother of Mrs. Bob Woodward, is visiting her this week following a trip through Cali fornia. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Linder of North Dakota, who have been visiting here, left for Portland, Ore., where they will make their home. Mrs. H. J. Ryland was a business visitor in Pendleton Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. K. Sharel of Spokane were Visitors at the Bob Woodward home this week. Bill Shy and Bud Curtis spent the week end in Pendleton and La Grande. Mae Rogers returned from La Grande with them and is visit ing at the H. Hooker home. Bill and Wayne Linder left last week for Portland where they ex pect to be employed. Visitors at the H.
