The president is M. G. Hedwall, the secretary-treasurer, E. H. Dunning, and other directors Roy Penney, H. J. Ott and Wm. Kik. The Hermiston Co-operative Laun dry was started in 1928 with one Maytag in the back part of the creamery then operated by Cecil Warner. It has grown into its pres ent quarters with six Maytags and one Dexter machine. It serves 160 patrons every week. It is managed by Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Barlow. A charge of 35 cents for t wo hours is made which includes use of machines and all the hot water need ed. The board of directors are Mrs. J. H. Reid, chairman, Mrs. H. M. The Umatilla Co-operative Cream ery was organized on July 1st. 1931. The members of the board of direc tors were T. G. Gregory, J. S. Rog ers. A. C. Heyden. E. L. Jackson. R. V. Jones. L. C. Cooney and A. E. McFarland. The output for the succeeding half year was 156.225 pounds of butterfat. For 1935 the plant manu factured a total of 528,000 pounds. It now has 340 patrons. The present board is E. L. Jack- son, president, M. G. Hedwall, sec retary-treasurer; Adolph Heyden. Curtis Dyer, L. Packard. R. V. Jones and A. E. McFarland. The creamery was first installed by Kittery & Kinnery. followed by Swarthouse and Townsend, who copywrighted the name "Oregon” Rose.” for their butter. These owners were followed by A M. Sundstruff.
