Mr. and Mrs. John Garner and family of Echo were Sunday visitors at the Barham home. L. W. Dixon made a business trip to La Grande, leaving Thursday and returning Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Barber left Friday for Salem to visit a sister of Mr. Barber. Mrs. E. J. Sheets is staying with the Barber children while Mr. and Mrs. Barber are away. Mrs. B. Hutchison entertained Sunday at a picnic luncheon on her lawn in honor of Mr. Hutchison’s birthday. Those present were Ed na Ott, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hooker, Nellie Hooker, Bud Sanderson, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Upham, Mrs. Wm. Mikesell, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Smith, Jack Smith, Mrs. Foster, Arilda Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson Harr, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Hutchi son, Mr. and Mrs. A. Christley. Dell Christley, Mrs. Douglas, Mrs. L. C. Dyer and little grandson, Bud Cur tis. Elmer James, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Ott, Marion Ott, C. Keller, Mr. and Mrs. J. Arnberg, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coons and Mr. and Mrs. B. Hutchison and daughter Lois. Mr. and Mrs. Craven of Touchet, Wn., were Monday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hooker. A meeting of the Blue Ribbon Calf club was held at the Hutchi son home Friday. W. A. Sawyer, assistant county agent, demonstra ted trimming hoofs. Roy Pearson and Alton Hooker left Monday for Freewater where they are employed. A. H. Cable left Friday for Port land. The Columbia Stitchers held a meeting at the Sommerer home Fri day. Adila Chetwood left Tuesday for Halfway. Ore., to visit her brother. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coons. who have been visiting at the Henry Hooker home, left Sunday for their home in Cornell. Wn. Lois Hutchison left Monday for Suttle Lake on a vacation with the Methodist Epworth League. Maxwell Jones of Irrigon is em ployed at the A. Christley ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wilson vi sited at the Jim Arnberg home Sat urday. L. Valentine is employed by A. Christley for the remainder of the summer. ' Charles Hall of Portland is spend ing three weeks at the A. Christley home. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arnberg visited in Irrigon one day this week. Farmers of Columbia district are cutting their second crop of hay this week. Mr. and ‘Mrs. L. Hammer and chlldrern Gloria and Ted, Alice Jean and Zona Mae Dudley and Mrs. L. Conrad were luncheon guests at the H. L. La.Mon home in Pendleton Tuesday. Mrs. Conrad and Zona Mae Dudley and Alice Jean Dudley remained in Pendleton for a short visit. Mrs. A. Dickerson, Betty, Dot and Margaret Dickerson, and Nita Dick erson of Richland, Wn., visited at the L. Hammer home Sunday. Mrs. Thomas of Goldendale, Wn., visited relatives in Columbia dis trict this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Conrad were Pendleton business visitors this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Conrad and daughter Laura left Sunday morn ing for southern Oregon where they will vacation among friends and rel atives for a week. Miss Dorothy Add lemán was an all night guest of Fern Lindner Monday. Mrs. H. Chriistensen and two daughters of Portland visited at the Will Lindner home Friday. They are nieces of Mrs. Lindner. Mrs. Bud Hooker spent Friday vi siting her sister, Mrs. B. Whitney, in Hermiston. Mrs. H. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Neill returned home from Union, Ore., Saturday where they have been looking after business interests. Mrs. Reid Buseick and family of Long Creek who have been visiting at the home of Mrs. Buseick's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Wattenbur- ger, returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Currin and son of Lena; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wigglesworth and family of Echo; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Cox and fami ly and Mr. and Mrs. A. Estle and daughter of Hermiston visited at the John Harrison home Sunday. Mrs. Truman Sether and daughter Phoebe are visiting at the home of Mrs. Sether’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Bartholomew. Earl Wattenburger came home from the Heppner hospital Friday. He went back to Heppner Monday where Dr. McMurdo removed the stitches in his foot and he Is report ed to be getting along nicely. Misses Opal and Shirley Jarmon and Roy Jarmon visited at the C. H. Bartholomew home Sunday. Malcolm O'Brien left Monday morning to accompany the 4-H club boys on a three-day tour through Baker, Union and Wallowa counties. Mrs. Bill McCarty, Mrs. Otis Mc Carty, Mrs. Bleakney of The Dalles. Oscar and Bob McCarty and Miss Shirley Jarmon spent Saturday af ternoon visiting at the A. E. Wat tenburger home. C. H. Bartholomew was transact ing business in Hermiston Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Van Orsdall of Pendleton and Alvin Strain were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Wattenburger Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Neill were busi ness visitors in Heppner Monday. Ilene and Billy Scott returned home with them for a week’s visit. Ilene and Billy are Mrs. Neill’s grand children. Rev. and Mrs. Banta and son Junior and Mrs. Kauffman and son Gerald of Stanfield visited at the A. E. Wattenburger home Sunday after the church services at Pine City.
