The Golden Text was, "There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked” (Isaiah 48:22). Among the citations which com prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible:"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sowetb, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall ot the flesh reap corruption; • but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life ever- lasting” (Gal. 6:7.8). The Lesson-Sermon also includ ed correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook. “Sci ence ami Health with Key to the Scriptures.” by Mary Baker Eddy: "Man's enslavement to the most relentless masters—passion, self- ishness, envy, hatred, and revenge —is conquered only by a mighty struggle. Every hour of delay makes the struggle more severe. If man is not victorious over the passions, they crush out happiness, health, and manhood. Here Christian Science is the sovereign panacea, giving strength to the weakness of mortal mind.— strength from the immortal and omnipotent Mind.-and lifting hu manity above itself into purer de sires, even into spiritual power and good-will to man” (p. 407).
