Mr. and Mrs. H. Dunn of Wallula were business visitors in Hermiston Saturday evening. Dr. A. E. Marble has moved into the building west of the post office, formerly occupied by him. He has had offices near the city auditorium building for the past three months. Mary Burnham, who has been con fined to her home for the past sev eral weeks due to illness, was able to be down town a short while this week. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gardner and daughter and niece were week end house guests of J. W. Messner. John Pace is now employed at the office of Assistant County Agent Sawyer as a part time assistant to replace Miss Helen Jendrzejewski who is now employed at the Farm Bureau Cooperative. Mrs. Alpha Christley fell last week and strained the ligaments her side. At first it was thought that she had broken two ribs but it later proved to be a sprain. She is getting along nicely and Is able to be about again. Claud Stamper and family are moving to Echo this week to make their home. Mr. Stamper is employed by the state highway commission and has been stationed in Hermis ton on a maintenance crew for two years. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Simons and son of Walla Walla and Mrs. Sim on’s sister, Erma Miller, were Sun day guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Simons. Lois Dean, small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Dean of the Umatilla Field Station, is quite ill with pne umonia complications following measles. She is reported as slightly improved at this time. Alton Kingsbury and daughter Jean left Wednesday for Portland where Jean Joined her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Neff, on a two weeks' trip to Mt. Vernon, Wn. Mr. Kingsbury returned Friday. Eugene Hanby, who has been at tending the University of Idaho at Moscow, returned home Monday evening after completing a three months’ course in butter and loe cream making.
