Miss Julia Colpitts, who is em ployed in the Dorion Hotel coffee shop in Pendleton, visited in Her miston Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lloyd Barnes of Portland were week end house guests of Mrs. Barne’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. W. O’Donnell. W. Kelty, superintendent of schools at Pilot Rock, was a busi ness visitor in Hermiston Saturday of last week. The Hermiston Altar Society will hold a cooked food sale April 4th, at 10 A. M. in the Oregon Hardware, ad Mrs. Ruby McMillan who has been attending Cheney Normal school in Cheney, Wn., returned to Hermiston last week. Mrs. Rena Waterman accompan ied Mr. and Mrs. J. Hoskins of Stan field to Thorp, Wn.. last Friday where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Waterman. Miss Catherine McMullen, student at the Eastern Oregon Normal school in La Grande, spent the week end visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McMullen. More than 1200 poults were re ceived at the New Madden acre farm southeast of town Tuesday. All were in fine shape upon arrival and were immediately placed in the new brooder house. Mrs. Walter Pearson returned from Susanville, Calif., Sunday ac companied by her sister and family, Mrs. Fred Barker, who will visit here for some time. Mrs. Pearson has been in California for the past three weeks. Eddie Jackman. son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Jackman. who has been quite ill with the measles, is able to be up again. At first it was GIVE YOU THE NEW thought that Eddie had a touch of brain fever. Mrs. Anna Gilmore, who has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Morehouse for the past year, returned to her home at Yakima last week. Mr. and Mrs. Morehouse mo tored over with her and visited rel atives while there. Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Deeter left Sunday for their new home in Bel lingham, Wn., where they have pur chased a fruit ranch. Mr. Deeter has served as assistant cashier in the local bank for a number of years. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Smith have rented the house occupied by them. Mr. and Mrs. N. W. O’Donnell entertained at dinner Sunday in honor of Mr. O'Donnell's birthday. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lloyd Barnes of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moore and daughter Barbara and son Elbert, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Pearson. Don Serell, student at the Uni versity of Oregon, spent the spring vacation with his parents here. C. A. Paul and daughters Ethel and Dora Lee of Pendleton spent the week end visiting in Hermiston.
