Mrs. Jess Prindle is able to be up again after having been ill for the past three weeks. Elbert Hutchison of Pendleton was a business visitor in Hermiston Saturday. Mrs. W. L. Morgan entertained Tuesday afternoon at a 1:00 o’clock luncheon. Covers were laid for twelve and the further diversion of the afternoon was contract bridge. Mrs. Walter Pearson won high hon ors and Mrs. Roy Hale second high. DANCE with the original Onlumlians at IRRIGON SATURDAY FEBRUARY 29 Miss Maxine Paul spent the week end in Pendleton. 4 Mrs. S. I. Robertson, sister of Mrs. LRose Lawson, left for her home in Long Creek Wednesday after spend ing the past three weeks visiting here. Merlin Earnhart. who is employed by the Dennis Motor Co., in Pendle ton, was a business visitor in Her miston Saturday. J. A. Yeager, county school sup erintendent, and A. E. McCulley of Pendleton were business visitors in town Thursday. J. M. Pace, who was injured in an automobile accident during the Christmas holidays while in Port land, is now able to be up and is expected to return to his home with in the next three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Jarmon are expected to return to their home on Butter Creek some time within the next week. They have been visiting their son at San Rafael, Calif., for the past three months. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Elliott and family, accompanied by Eugene Pierce of Pendleton. spent Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Pierce. Binning of Bend, Oregon, is now employed at the Hermiston Dry Cleaning establishment.. H. M. Sommerer, manager of the Farm Bureau Co-operative and C. A. Jackman, manager of the Co-op erative Service Station, attended a district cooperative meeting in Wal la Walla Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack O'Dell and two daughters Diana and Suzanne, who recently moved here from Wal la Walla, are living in the Crandall bouse. Mr. O'Dell is employed at the Tum-A-Lum. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Sale and daugh ter of Messner were business visitors in Hermiston Saturday. Mrs. R. G. Gale of Vancouver. Wn., and Mrs. Earl Wilson of Bonneville arrived Saturday night to be with their sister, Mrs. Geo. Wagner, dur ing the illness of her husband. Mrs. Ruby McMillan spent the week end at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Scott. She is a student at Cheney Normal in Washington. John Jendrzejewski, president of the Eastern Oregon Turkey Growers’ association here, attended a meet ing of the Oregon Turkey Growers’ association in Portland this week. He is a member of the board of di rectors. Mrs. W. J. Warner and Mrs. N. R Mueller entertained at a 6:30 o’clock dinner last Thursday at the Muel ler home. Covers were laid for twenty and the dinner was followed by bridge play. Mr. and Mrs. F. C. McKenzie won high honors and Mrs S. Thompson and D. M. Deeter won second high honors. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Quiring en tertained at a birthday surprise party Wednesday evening hon oring Mrs. Joe Dyer. Invited guests were, the honoree, Mr. Dyer, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Davidson, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Douglas and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Dyer. Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Davidson and W. Williams motored to Portland over the week end. They report that the falls along the Columbia highway are beautiful in their froz en state. Mr. Davidson is the new federal veterinarian stationed here and Mr. Williams is his assistant. Mrs. O. K. Mudge and Mrs. James Todd entertained at bridge lunch eons on Thursday and Saturday of last week at the Todd home. The Valentine motif made the tables and rooms bright and attractive. On Thursday Mrs. F. M. Guiwlts won high honors and on Saturday Mrs. E. P. Dodd. Change in Train Time! Mrs. Frank Sloan was hostess Fri day afternoon at a miscellaneous shower at her home honoring Mrs. Vernon Wald. Many lovely gifts were received by the honoree. The Stanfield schools have opened again after a two weeks vacation be cause of illness among the students. About fifty per cent were present Monday when school opened. Miss Doris W.
