Leavitt, chancellor of the Eugene Bible college, was in Hermiston Sunday enroute to Walla Walla. Mrs. Max Cowgill of Portland, who will be remembered by Hermis ton people as Miss Ruth Whitney, left for her home Thursday after spend ing a week visiting friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald White have been spending the week in Clarks ton, Wn., where Mr. White is re ceiving medical attention. They re turned to Hermiston Wednesday for the Teacher-Parent meeting where Mrs. White delivered an address, but remained only for the night. Miss Edith Clarke left Thursday morning for Salem where she will attend the state Christian Endeavor convention which is in session April 19 to 21. Miss Pauline Stoop left Thursday night and will attend part of the convention sessions, and also visit in Portland and Dallas. Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Ober and fam ily spent last week vacationing in Portland and The Dalles. The fam ily visited relatives at The Dalles, while Mr. Ober fished in the streams. Mr. Ober is employed at the Farm Bureau Co-operative of Hermiston. Mrs. E. E. Fret well, who has been visiting her sister and brother-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Amsberry, for the past two weeks, left Tues day for her home In Fruitland, Ida ho.
