Miss Evelyn Cresswell and Robert Creswell of Pendleton were Sunday dinner guests of Miss Marian Hen- derson. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pitinger were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Shaar Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Seeliger are the parents of a baby boy born Monday, December 11. He has been named James Jean. Miss Laura Buskirk of Pendleton visited over the week end with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Quick. Miss Shirley Brownson, senior at O.S.C., and Miss Mary Brownson, sophomore, arrived home Sunday to spend the holidays with their par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Brownson. 5C Hermiston, Oregon SATURDAY - SUNDAY MONDAY Bob Henderson arrived home Sat urday from Corvallis and will spend the holidays with his mother Mrs. Georgia Henderson. He is a fresh man at O.S.C. James Moore, father of Sam Moore, arrived last week from Wash- ington and will visit for several weeks with his son ar I family. Frank Swayze arrive I home from Eugene Friday morning to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Swayze. H is enrolled in law at the university. Miss Marjorie Burnham, student at Ellensburg Normal, arrived home Wednesday to spend the Christmas holidays with ber parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Burnham. Mrs. Chas. Hudson is back at her desk at the Umatilla Co-operative Creamery after an absence of sever al days due to infection in her foot which developed from a burn. Tommy Todd, young son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Todd, received a bad cut on his tongue las: week when an iron bar hit his chin while he was playing on the school ground, The wound has healed sufficiently so that he back in school again. Miss Gladys Swarner arrived home Sunday from Corvallis where she is a junior in physical education at the state college. She will spend the holidays with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. warner. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Pearson left early Monday morning for Kelso, Wn., where they will operate their service station during the Christ- mas holidays while Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McKenzie, present managers, spend the holidays in Hermiston V. ith relatives and friends. Mrs. Mc- Kenzie is Mr. and Mrs. Pearson’s daughter. A charming dinner party was giv en last Thursday night at the Her- liston Hotel when Mrs. 11. T. Fra- er and Mrs. C. C. Durfey enter- ained at bridge. Ten tables were n play during the evening. Mrs. alph Richards won high honors. md Mrs. C. M. Jackson, second high. Mrs. Cleve Clark and Mrs. Alice tone entertained Saturday and Tuesday at dessert bridge luncheons at the home of Mrs. Stone. Six ta lee were in play each day. On Sat- irday Mrs. Wm. Shaar received high honors, Mrs. Wm. Hineline consola tion, and Mrs. C. C. Durfey cut rize. On Tuesday, Mrs. W. L. Mor- zan received high honors, Mrs. Hen ry Harger, consolation, and Mrs. A. W. Christopherson, cut prize. The American Legion Auxiliary membership entertained Tuesday night at the Legion hall with a Christmas party. Each guest brought a toy for the Christmas tree which will be placed in boxes of food stuffs and distributed among veterans’ families. Musical numbers were urnished by the quartet and by Mrs. Patique of Umatilla. The remainder of the evening was spent in danc ing. Miss Norma Johnston entertained at a bridge party last Friday night it her home in the Osborn apart- ments. After each rubber the play- er making a grand slam or a little dam was presented with a gift from under the Christmas tree. Those present were the Misses Magdolen Buck, Catherine McBain.
