This new breed Is a close relative to tthe common chicken mite, says Dr. Don C. Motte, head of the ento mology department. When present on fowls these mites multiply rapid- ly and congregate at certain spots on the body, where feathers become rough and dirty from the effects of the parasites. English sparrows and blackbirds have been known to carry these mites. Preliminary tests indicate they are fairly easy to control once dis covered, as dipping in liquid louse killer or dusting with very fine sul fur are effective, while use of nico tine sulfate on the roosts has killed many of them. Further observa tions are still being made of best control measures. TEW CHICKEN MITE FOUND Most mites are satisfied to prey n chickens at night and then re- reat to hiding places around the oosts during the day, but a new We Are Closing Out! ression is on-the money tied up ) But you can buy a lot of goods with a little money at the prices we are making.
