You have a date at the election polls Friday sometime. Don’t let an other one interfere. Check over a sample ballot before you go. VOLUMN XXVI m W* Al Me Hrrmistu Heraln NUMBER 38 AWARDS MADE AT COMMENCEMENT CLOSE SCHOOL YEAR HERMISTON, TOWNSPEOPLE SHOULD POLLS EARLY. GO TO UMATILLA COUNTY, OREGON, THURSDAY, Visit Mountain Cabin. Floyd Knerr. M. L. Watson, and Otto Pierce visited their mountain cabin above Ukiah last Sunday and found that the heavy snow last win- ter had practically demolished the frail building. Except in clear pla- ces in the mountains the snow still lay three feet deep but where the ground was bare the wild flowers bloomed in profusion. The men said the brave little wild flowers even dared to force their way through the edge of the ice-coated snow and then burst forth into bloom as the warm spring sunshine encouraged them. The visitors re paired the cabin the best they could and salvaged two lamps that had not been broken by the cave-in. After the lamps were placed outside one of them was broken when a hammer Mr. Pierce was using flew through the globe. They plan to return la ter to complete the repair work.
