Once he needed a hotel to care for the many visitors coming to see his chicken ranch. “Build one," be ordered his manager. In a short time the ho tel was completed and opened. This speed mania for doings things brought Thomson the name of “Cyclone" which friends shortened to Cy. Down on the ranch Cy built an ex pensive dance hall. Another time Cy staged a mammoth celebration to show off his farm. News papers -and magazines sent special writers for the event. And where only a crowd of 10,000 had been ex pected 00,000 showed up.
