The O regon s ta te h ig h w ay com m is­
sion com pleted a 150,000 b rid ge over
th e U m atilla riv e r re cen tly co n n ect­
ing th e east an d w est side of th e m ain
highw ay. I t is one of th e finest
b ridges in th e state.
T he U m atilla R apids dam site is
ju s t above th e tow n of U m atilla, and
w ith th e developm ent of th is mam-
