It-W If friends of a state income tax law want to have such a law on the statute books they will do well to quit wrangling over the merits of the two proposed bills. The voters of the state are pretty evenly divided on the question. The opponents of the income tax will undoubtedly vote against both the Grange and the property offset tax bills. If friends of the income tax are divided under : such conditions any school boy can accurately predict the result of the j vote. If only 40 per cent of the Votes are opposed to both bills, and , the remaining 60 per cent oppose I one and vote for the other the in come tax idea will be much more de cisively defeated than it was two years ago.
