A number of farmers of the Her miston district met at the Columbia School house last Friday night to discuss diversified farming and the farm methods used in the Kennewick district In growing asparagus, straw berries, early potatoes and grapes. The local Farm Bureau desired fur ther information along the lines of marketing and crop planting in the Kennewick territory. In order to procure this a committee was ap pointed by the Bureau to go to Ken newick and spend some time in the vicinity and get the data. They vis ited the different farms and obtained samples of the soil. They found out the kind of soil that is beet adapted to certain products. A study of the marketing situation was made. Last Friday this committee made a report of their findings. The meet ing was an enthusiastic one. A questionaire Is being prepared and sent out to the farmers regarding the crops they wlah to grow and the acreage they will put in cultivation. The Hermiston Commercial club Is co-operating with the Columbia Farm Bureau in this work. , The M. E.
