am ount from one cent a gallon to a
proposed 5 cen ts a gallon in th e state
of Oregon w here m otorists are al­
read y paying a tax of 2 cen ts a g al­
lon. It Is tru e th a t autom obiles ben­
e fit gro atly by good roads b u t they
