The theme of the conference this year was the price of leadership and the boys entered into the spirit of the conference very well and took an active part in the meeting. As we did not reach there in time for the election of offtcers Friday night, none of our boys were elected officers of the conference this year as they undoubtedly would have been if they had been there Friday night. By Frederic Ilesser Last year at Pendleton our large delegation of boys voted to have this year’s older boys' conference at Hep pner. Consequently the boys have been looking forward for a long time to the conference, which was held at Heppner on October 14, 15 and 16. Hermiston had the largest delegation at the conference again this year, having 31 boys there. We started at eleven o’clock Fri day morning on a truck for Heppner, 50 miles away, after a big send off by those boys who did not go and al so by the girls. Engine trouble and the fact that the truck had no chains delayed us a great deal, and finally we were compelled to leave T. A.
