Kid Allen, lived with her father,
Mate Allen, up in the hills. Between
drinks the “Mate's” one subject of
conversation with the Kid was that
she “get a eddication.” When the
"Mate" was murdered, the Kid start­
ed out to get what her dad said she
ought to have, and became involved
in some exciting and romantic adven­
tures. She fell in love with a young
sheepherder who rescued her when
she had fallen from her horse onto a
ledge of a cliff.
A picturesque cowpuncher took her
under his protection and promised t
see that she. got her ‘‘eddication,”
whatever that meant, even going to
the length of beating up an innocent
old college professor who tried to
explain that an education .wasn't a
vegetable, but something to be ac­
quired by study.
The play was made from a story
by Marjory Benton Cooke.
