LAST WEEK’S COLUMBIA NOTTS
Norris Jones, who has been vis

the past few weeks, has returned and
is now at work on his father’s farm.
A large 4 5 horse power tractor,
owned by A. . Barnes, was driven
through the community Wednesday
to McComas Island in the Columbia
river near the Cold Springs station.
The machine Is to be used for pump-

tract of land that is to be seeded
to alfalfa and wheat. The island
consists of 600 acres and has been
used in the past for pasturage. Mr.
Barnes has the island leased for five
years.
There has been quite a little fish
ing for trout at the reservoir lately.
Some very fine catches have been
made. It is hoped the trout fishing
will last for some time as there is
not always an opportunity for the
sport here.
The card party given May 8th nt

Delicious refreshments were served
by the hostess at midnight, after
which all departed thanking Mr. and
