In the matter of the organization of John Day Irrigation District in Morrow, Gilliam and Umatilla Coun- ties, in the State of Oregon. To the Honorable County Court of Morrow County, Oregon: The undersigned petitioners re- spectfully show: That petitioners are more than fifty of the owners of land ■ irrigated or susceptible to irrigation ■ within the boundaries hereinafter I described and desire to provide for I the construction of works for the Ir- ■ rigation of the same and to provide ■ for the reconstruction, betterment, I extension, purchase, operation or I maintenance of works already con- I structed and for the assumption as I principal or guarantor of indebted- I oess on account of district lands to I the United States under the Federal I Reclamation Laws, and petitioners do I now propose the organization of an I irrigation district to be known as I the John Day Irrigation District.
