Excavation work for the base­
ment of the new $10,000 garage to
be built at the intersection of First
avenue with Hermiston and Gladys
avenues was begun the first of the
week by Contractor Beisse, and from
now on construction will be rushed
in order to have the building ready
for occupancy by the Hermiston
