ANOTHER THOROUGHBRED
HOG FOR THE PROJECT
--
One day last week there arrived
in Hermiston direct from a famous
herd in Nebraska a splendid type of
the large size Duroc-Jersey hog. This
time it is Ciinten P. Adams who is
the lucky man. Mammoth Sensa
tion, sire of the sow that Mr. Adams
has just received, is the largest hog
of any breed at his age in the world.
At the age of sixteen months he
weighed 825 pounds. The new sow
is no runt, as she weighed 400
pounds at eleven months. Her breed
ing, Sensation and Critic, crossed
with the Orion hog family, will sure
ly give the state of Oregon some
prize winners.
Mr. Adams has recently purchased
land on the project, and is now im
proving 60 acres one and a half
miles east of town.
Bound Over
Wiilie Willkie, a crippled wan
derer, was bound over yesterday
to the grand jury in Justice Dodd's
court, the charge that brought about
his arrest the night before by Chief
of Police Crandall having been as
sault with intent to kill. In an alter
cation he struck a Mr. Troutman
with a butcher knife, cutting quite
a gash in his forehead. Deputy
Sheriff Joe Blakely, who happened to
be here on business, took the prisoner
back with him.

Johnston Mowers were being made and sold as early as 1871. but
the output was small and the distribution confined to a small territory.
Now they are being sold in nearly every country on the globe.
Back in those early days your father may have had a Johnston
machine, but the company for about 50 years has continually been impro
ving these machines, showing as great improvements likely as your own
way of farming is over that practiced by your father.
The Johnston Mowers are particularly adapted to conditions as they
exist on the Pacific Coast. Each one is built of the best materials, by
skilled workmen, and will do your work to your entire satisfaction.
