Vol. XIII. Saturday, March 15, 1919 SUPPLEMENT TO THE HERMISTON HERALD No. 26 Income Tax Officers Urgent requests having been made to Milton A. Miller, collector of in ternal revenue at Portland, by tax- payera for assistance in making out their income tax reports, that gen tleman has assigned and stationed Income Tax Officers Chamberlain, Davis and McLaren at the postoffice building in Pendleton, where they are to remain on duty up to and in cluding March 15. The Treasury Department has ex tended the time for filing income Tax Returns to March 15th, 1919, and anyone not thoroughly fam liar with the provisions of the income Tax Law and their obligation there under, should at once make Inquiry of the above mentioned officer or write his office direct, as this will he the last opportunity to do so in connection with the filing of returns of income for the year 1918 prior to the due date of filing. As soon as possible after March 15th an extensive “drive" will bo made taking In the state and heavy penalties will attach where persons liable to tax have failed to disclose their liability and make return on or before March 15th. 1919.
