Cedar Residents
Are Given Surprise
A rea l su rp rise greeted Mr. and
Mrs. C. H. H opkins of the Cedar
d istric t last T uesday evening, when
nine carlo ad s of friends from S er
vice Circle, N eighbors of Wood
c ra ft. of P o rtlan d drove into their
yard w ith a ru sh and a ro ar. The
occupants of th e ca rs, dressed in
comic costum es, tootiug horns and
blow ing w histles, dem anded th a t
the doors be throw n wide open for
an old fashioned H allowe'en.
T he evening w ent m errily w ith
dancing, singing and cards. At a
late hour heavily laden b askets
w ere brought forth by the guests
and a h ea rty repast w as indulged
in by all. Tnen dishes w ere clean
ed up, tables disappeared and all
signs of disorder rem oved by the
guests, afte r w hich the fun co n tin
ued to a late hour.
