T he graduation exercises of th e
eighth grad e class of th e T rou td ale
school w ere held a t th e schoolhouse
on May 20 in the auditorium of the
new building, w ith a large crow d
in attendance. T his class had the
distinction of being th e first to
g rad u a te from the new school.
T he auditorium w as beautifully
decorated w ith Scotch broom and
wild blue delphinium by th e T ro u t
dale F low er club, c a rry in g out the
class colors of blue and gold. Two
sm all girls, K athleen McGinnis and
B arb ara Spence, acted as flower
girls. They w ere daintily dressed
in blue and gold.

pleted th e ir sta te te sts w ith very
cre d itab le grades. Nola Sm ith had
not been absent or ta rd y during th e
la st tw o years, and every grade th a t
she has received d u rin g th a t tim e

shabby?

longs to th e g rad e school d istric t
yet th e school board has no a u
th o rity to devote a penny to its
care. T he city has no funds to
use for th e purpose. It is up to
the citizens and those especially
who have relativ es and friends
buried th e re to volunteer d o n at
ed w ork or money or h ire help
to clean up th e cem etery.
The Outlook cannot find out
who has ch arg e of the cem e
tery but offers and donations
should probably go to th e school
board, and those who have loved
ones buried should nt least care
j for th e graves.
