It is th o u g ht th a t th e m an had brooded over im aginary or rea l tro u b les until a m ental condition b rought about the circu m stan ces of the shooting. He is survived by his wife and six children. An investigation w as held a t the sheriff's office su bsequent to the a l leged hom icide w hich resulted in the q u estioning of the widow reg ard in g th e deed. She declared th a t all she knew concerning his death w as th a t she h eard a shot in th e early hours of S atu rd ay m orning and found him dead in th e bed beside her. No charges w ere placed ag a in st her. L ater it w as reported th a t Mrs. S hannon called at th e sheriff's office and requested aid for h erself and her six fa th e rle ss children. T he sheriff w as unable personally to offer aid but directed her to the m o th er's pension b u reau and also th e P ublic W elfare bureau.
