Mr. W alters announced yesterday th a t the county has accepted a 30-foot roadw ay extending from Johnson creek to th e p ro p erty of B. N orthrup and Jo h n G antenbein, th ro u g h the G resham H eights farm , ow ned by Mr. W alters. A 10-foot strip of cleared land w as p u rch ased from th e H enry M etzger estate, w ithout cost to th e county, and th e dedication of a 30- foot roadw ay by th e M etzger estate, by A. B. W itter and R. F. W alters. T his road follow s th e co u rse of the lane w hich has been in use for 42 y ears and m akes m ore accessab le th is scenic spot, a view from w hich reveals th e board a g ric u ltu ra l lands of e a st e rn M ultnom ah county. F rom th is van tag e point m ay be seen five snow capped peaks of th e C ascade range, th e Colum bia riv er, P o rtlan d and V ancouver on th e w est and num erous cities dotting a larg e p ortion of so u th ern W ashington. T he road Is dedicated as th e W a lt e r ’s road. It w ill be im proved as soon as possible and an effort w ill be m ade to secu re a good b ridge ac ro ss the creek and possibly a w idening of the roadw ay from Jo h n so n creek n o rth to Pow ell street.
