Squire, involving a Judgm ent held by J. L. Cook, of T ro u td ale, ag ain t A rth u r L eland, fo rm erly of T ro u td ale, and who had also lived in G resham . T he case w as decided a g a in st Cook and gives th e possession of tw o cows, w hich form ed th e b asis of th e litig a tion. to Mrs. I. S. L eland, of G resham , m o th er of th e d e fe n d a n t Mr. L eland had tw o cow s w hich he nad tu rn ed over to his m o th er to a s sist in th e su p p o rt of his d a u g h te r for whom th e eld erly lady is carin g . Mr. Cook levied on th e two cow s to sa tis fy a claim he held ag a in st L eland, but Mrs. L eland m ade a claim for them w hich w as upheld by th e co u rt. Cook had alread y ta k en possessio n of th e cows, but he w as in stru c ted to re tu rn them to Mrs. L eland, w hich he p rom ised to do.
