GRESHAM Farm Reminders. Exercise for the brood sow in win- te r is an excellent tonic. P astu re if available is a w onderful help. Grain is always fed with the "pasture to ob ta in th e best results. If pasture is not available, use some other form of roughage, such as alfalfa or clover hay or roots. It will m ake your sow stro nger and better able to produce a stro ng litter if th e se 'p o in ts are c a r ried out. P oultry yards near the broodei house should be disinfected w ith lime a n d turned under and a crop grown ,0 renew the soil. Watch the feed supply, especially kale and butterm ilk. P lan t barley or oats and vetch now for green feed next spring. Kale often freezes so it is w ell to have other green feed to depend on.
