VOTE FO R TH E BONDS. Monday evening a t th e Union high school building legal voters of the d istric t will vote on a sm all bond issue for th e high school enlargem ent and Improvem ent. Not over *20.000 is asked for by th e board of directo rs to use reconstructing and arran g in g the present gym nasium into class room s and erecting a new building for gym nasium purposes. The present class rooms a re over crow ded and additional room is bad ly needed. T he present gym nasium is Inadequate fo r th e increasing a t tendance. The reconstruction, it is said, can be done at a m inim um of expense for th e additional facilities it will pro vide. This is a move th a t will m ean much for the fu tu re of th e high school and th e board should be heartily backed up by the voters in th is needful un dertaking. T he increase in the n um ber of a u tom obiles undoubtedly increases th e danger. It also has a tendency to m ake drivers m ore careless. T here is developed on th e p art of m any a mad h aste to get over the road. E very one w ants a high-pow ered ca r so he can get ahead of the others on th e road. T his explains much of th e in crease In accidents. It Is tim e to slow up a bit, read th e signs, ob serve the rules and have a h ig h er regard for the safety of hum an be ings. Do not say "to u rin g c a r” any m ore if you would keep up with th e tim es; use the word "p h a eto n .” T he Socie ty of Autom obile E ngineers, m eeting in New York, have so decided and th e ir word goes as regards m otor cars. T here are 14 designations nam ely: R oadsters, coupe, phaeton, sedan, berline, lim ousine, brougham , landoulet, sedan-landoulet broug- ham -landoulet, berllne-landoulet, lim ousine-landoulet and carbriolet. Much good hay is spoiled each year by being left too long In th e sw ath, w indrow or shock. A very much bet te r quality of baled or loose hay may be had by curin g th e hay out as ra p idly as possible and p u ttin g it in th e mow o r stack w here it is not exposed to light.
