OREGON ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 22 FRIDAY, MARCH 17, President Urges Subsidy for Merchant Marine An adjourned city council meeting will be held next Wednesday evening. March 22. When the council ad journ ed at a late hour on th eir last meeting night there was still some unfinished business and it will be taken up at this time. The ordinances for discus sion is as follows: An ordinance on the issuance of a franchise to jitneys. An ordinance authorizing the sale of w ater to persons living outside of the city. An ordinance to increase the rate on the sale of w ater for family use from $1.00 to $1.25 a month. The reason for the proposed raise is to balance the cost of w ater to the city w ith th eir re turns.
