His d eath was caused by appoplexy an d cam e w ith o u t any ap p a ren t w arning. F o r th e past 10 y ears Mr. A cker m an had been p resid en t of th e N or m al school and (er 12 years preced ing had been su p e rin ten d e n t of pub lic Instruction in th is s ta t* H e was 66 years of age. Mr. A cker m an began his ca reer in Oregon in 1889 when he served as principal of th e H olladay school.
