Mr. an d Mrs. Geo. J. L aver and d au g h ter, M argaret, drove over from Mill P lains, Sunday, to visit with Mrs. L av er’s m other, Mrs. L. S. Osborne. Mrs. C. M. H arvey and d au g h ter, Miss L au ra of Lents, were g u ests at the hom e of Mr. and Mrs. O. I. Neal I on Sunday. Miss H arvey is a teach er in th e L ents school. The residence ow ned by A rth u r R egner on Second s tre e t has been moved. The building has been moved back from th e stre e t and a little east of its old location. This adds much to th e ap p earan ce of th e place, and leaves room for som e added im prove m ents which he plans on m aking More im p o rtan t still it reduces the insurance on th e R egner building on Main s tre e t to have th e residence i fu rth e r away. W ord haa ju s t been received of the sudden d eath of Mrs. J. J. Ryan a t I | h e r hom e in Silverton. The cause of 1 J h er d eath was h e a rt failu re. Mrs. I I Ryan was m a rried ab o u t fo u r m onths ago to J. J. Ryan who is well known | in G resham . J. N. M ew hirter has had a new I cem ent sidew alk laid in fro n t of his property. This adds much to th e ap pearance of th e place. T he B oughner building on Powell j stre e t is being reshingled th is week. T he new m angle has been received by th e G resham Steam lau n d ry and is being placed ready fo r use. This m angle is ab o u t th re e tim es as large aa th e one now in use and will in-1 i crease th e capacity of th e plant. H am lin H enderson and his m o th er. Mrs. H enderson of P o rtlan d were ! guests at th e hom e of Mr. and Mrs I ' H. C. L arsen la st Sunday. C alkins, who is in th e Good S am aritan hospital u n d erw en t a successful o p eratio n and is reported to be im proving. A F o rd sedan belonging to Roy P eterso n was driven by Miss Opal P hillips into th e curb in fro n t of A ylsw orth's sto re on F rid ay a f te r noon and one wheel was com pletely dem olished.
