gon 2A Girls Basketball
State Tournament delivered
a first-round shocker as
#7 Knappa edged out #10
Heppner, 46-39, in a game
many are calling an upset
of the night.
The Mustangs, who
had previously dominated
Knappa 53-42 in Decem-
ber, came into the matchup
with momentum, only to
see it slip away in a tough
second half.
Heppner held an early
advantage, but Knappa
managed a narrow 15-14
lead by halftime, setting the
stage for a Logger come-
back.
Knappa pull ahead, up by
eight through three quar-
ters, thanks to Mylie Lem-
pea’s 23 points and 10 re-
bounds.
A late three-pointer
from Taylor Pass locked in
the Loggers’ win, despite
a valiant stand from Hep-
pner’s Hallee Hisler, who
led her team with 19 hard-
fought points.

Sr., 44, and Kristi Parti-

a license. On the same
