Any letters expressing thanks will be placed in the classifieds under “Card of Thanks” at a cost of $16 Obituaries Robanai Coral Disque Robanai Coral Disque Robanai Coral Disque, 68 of Lexington, OR passed away on February 22, 2025, at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She will be remembered for the love of her family. A celebration of life service will be held at Hopeful Saints Church on Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. Following the service, a reception for friends and family will take place at The Heppner Elks Lodge #358. A private graveside ceremony will take place at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery at a later date. Robanai was born on Sept. 29, 1956, in Heppner, to Robert and Nathaline Riddle. She attended high school locally and gradu- ated before moving on to pursue her goal of being a registered nurse and provid- ing help to those who need- ed it. She worked as an RN for St. Anthony Hospital, Tri-County Home Health, and finally the MCHD Home Health and Hos- pice in Heppner, where she served as director for three years. Her compassion and dedication to her patients was acknowledged when she was awarded Nurse of the Year by the Oregon Association of Home Care in 2016. Robanai married the love of her life, Duane Roy Disque, on July 16, 1983. Together they had two chil- dren, Kylee and Taylor. They enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage and were side by side right up until the end. Robanai was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church and served as trea- surer, council member and president over the years. She was instrumental in the beginning of the Shared Ministry between Hope Lutheran and All Saints Episcopal churches, serving on the leadership team for many years. She also acted as a youth group and Sun- day school teacher. She was also an active member in Cursillo, chair- ing many different positions and serving as historian for many years. She also was an avid golfer and enjoyed stamping up and playing Bunco. Her biggest enjoy- ment in life was watching, playing with and spoiling her granddaughters. Robanai is survived by her husband Duane; daugh- ter Kylee (Sean) Allstott; son Taylor Disque; grand- daughters Kate Bailee and Jane Julie Allstott; sisters Twilla Peterson and Rhonda Cummings; brothers Char- lie Riddle, Chris Riddle and Terry Riddle; stepsisters Shannon Landcaster and Andrea Long; and step- brother Rich Long. S P O K A N E , WA (2/19/2025)—Zane Acock, a graduate of Irrigon High School has earned place- ment on the Gonzaga Uni- versity Dean’s List for Fall semester 2024. Students must earn between 3.50 to 3.85 grade point average to be listed. Zane is a fresh- man in Gonzaga’s Bache- lor of Science in Nursing program. Gonzaga University is a private Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic university, situated along the Spo- kane River near downtown Spokane, Washington and recognized among the top 100 National Universities by U.S. News and & World Report. Heppner firefighters Trevor Rhea and Eric Chick visited the Heppner Day Care Feb. 27 for a field day with the kids. The firemen dressed in their fire personal protective equipment (PPE), explained what it’s used for and why, showed the kids what they keep in their tool compartments on the truck and even let them crawl through to sit in the cab. -Contributed photo Ione FFA plans state convention fundraiser Several Ione FFA stu- dents will be heading to the FFA State Convention, and they’re offering the community a way to have fun and support the cause through an evening of Bin- go. The FFA Bingo fund- raiser will take place Sun- day, March 16, at the Ione American Legion Hall. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with play beginning at 4 p.m. Admission is $15 and includes two books of Bin- go cards, one dauber and three Blackout Bingo cards. Additional cards can be purchased for $1 per card or $5 per book. Additional Blackout cards will be $2, with a pack of three for $5. A 50/50 raffle will also take place. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Participants are wel- come to bring their own snacks and drinks when they come to join the fun.
