The Mustang offense went on another long drive as the offensive line continued to control the line of scrimmage. A nine-play drive of all runs ended when Rodriguez scored again from 4 yards out. Orem passed the ball to Tripp Stewart for the 2-pt. conversion to make the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. After another Outlaw punt, the Mustangs only needed three plays to score again. A 27-yard pass completion from Orem to Stewart, then a 6-yard run by Zach Brown led to a 29- yard scamper by Rodriguez for a touchdown. Hayden McMahon scored the 2 pt. to now make the score of the game 22-0 early in the second quarter. Enterprise put together a small drive that ended when Landon McMahon sacked the Outlaw quarterback on a fourth down and 11 play. Heppner took over and scored again when Orem completed a pass to Caleb George, and he outran the entire Enterprise defense for a 54-yard touchdown. Stewart took the handoff and scored the 2-pt. conversion to make the score 28-0 midway through the second quarter. The teams then traded possessions a couple of times. Late in the second quarter, Enterprise fumbled the ball, and Stewart recovered it to give the Mustangs great field position at the Outlaw 17- yard line. Orem ran the ball for 5 yards and then he threw a touchdown pass to Hayden McMahon for a score from 12 yards out. That made the score 36-0 in favor of the Mustangs as the first half ended. The second half would be played with a running clock as the Mustangs were ahead by 35 points or more. That makes the rest of the game go very fast, but it is a good time for many of the younger Heppner players to get valuable varsity playing time. It also contributes to the team by giving the starters some rest and helps them avoid possible injuries. The teams traded possessions several times in the second half and the Mustangs ended the game with the ball and score of 36-0. Heppner dominated the statistics for the game as they had 17 first downs and Enterprise only 7. The Mustangs had 338 yards of total offense compared to Enterprise with 95. Heppner ran the ball for 245 yards and passed it for 93. Orem was 3-4 passing the ball for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns. George caught 1 pass for 54 yards and a touchdown while Stewart had a reception for 27. Hayden McMahon had 1 reception for 12 yards and a score. Rodriguez led the team in rushing with 46 yards on 5 carries and he scored 3 touchdowns. Brown followed closely with 45 yards on 7 carries and Hayden McMahon finished with 40 on 6 runs. Orem carried the ball for 39 yards, Stewart had 37 and Darby Spivey carried the ball 2 times for 18 yards. John Lindsay had a carry for 8 yards, Joseph Albitre finished with 6 and with 3 yards each in the game were George and Mason Haugen. The dominating defense was led by Landon McMahon with 7 tackles. Rodriguez and Stewart were next with 6 tackles each and Brown recorded 5. With 3 tackles each in the game were Jaime Caven, Keaton Coiner, Kaden King and George. With 2 tackles each were Albitre and Owen Guerra. Recording 1 tackle in the game for the Mustangs were Hayden McMahon and Lane Critchlow. The Mustangs will take on the Waldport Irish on Saturday, November 9 at 1 pm. The game will be played on Les Payne Field at Greg Grant Stadium. Heppner drama shorts Nov. 12 th -13 th ited on rainy Halloween as pretty determined and har- dy young people. The com- munity was ready for them, having previously had their popcorn-ball-making par- ty, as well as their pump- kin-carving get-together. Soon to follow was the changing of their facility and apartment clocks from daylight savings time to standard time, causing a sometimes-confusing day or two. Tomorrow, residents and staff will be encouraged to wear pink, showing sup- port for Cancer Awareness Day. Next Monday, Alex Ca- marillo and Ed Baker will attend the Heppner High School assembly that will honor these two men and other local veterans who served in the US military. A special dessert will be served at the Terrace in honor of these residents. For some extra fun and relaxation, the residents might decide to lounge around in their pajamas all day on the 14th, PJ Day, and then, on the 22nd, enjoy a of turkey and all the trim- mings. An opening remains for a part-time cook, which would be very helpful in preparing that complex meal. (Interested persons should call 541-676-0004 or come to the Terrace.) Annagrace did recently leave the Terrace to explore other employment oppor- tunities, but she has been there again quite often late- ly, as she has agreed to fill in for employees who are not able to come to work. She is certainly a reason to be thankful! A new face joining the staff in time for the coming holiday activities belongs to Julie Teeman, who is now adding her skills as a resident-care associate. As November passes quickly and the Christmas season comes, thoughts sometimes also turn to end- of-the-year donations that are tax deductible. Do- nations to Willow Creek Terrace are deductible, and the Community views any such contributions with great appreciation.
