City of Boardman selects
new logo and motto
The new Boardman Logo
The City of Boardman
is excited to announce the
winner of the City Motto
Contest, Hadley Coleman.
Her motto is “Small town,
big dreams”; the Boardman
community helped in the
VHOHFWLRQSURFHVV:LWKWKH
new motto, the city was
able to create a new logo.
The logo, and variations
of it, will be visible around
The Boardman City Coun-
cil also revealed their new
Council Mission State-
ment: “The Boardman City
Council believes responsi-
ble leadership is built on
principles of transparency,
communication, integrity,
and the desire to serve our
citizens with the shared
goal towards the betterment

Hospital Foundation board
met on May 13th to award
student scholarships for
working towards a career

Scholarship for $2500.00
to Emma Mueller. Emma
is attending Notre Dame
of Maryland University
in her third year obtaining
her nursing degree. Kevin
Murray was also awarded
DQ (DUO DQG +D]HO :LOVRQ
Scholarship for $2500.00.
Kevin is a second-year den-
tal student at Oregon Health
& Science University. Jes-
sica Kempken was awarded
a scholarship for 2000.00.
She is a third-year pharma-
cy student at Oregon State/
Oregon Health and Sci-
ence University pursuing
a Doctorate in Pharmacy
along with a dual MBA
degree. Rubi Juarez was
awarded a scholarship for
$2000.00. She is attending
Oregon State University

The Pioneer Memorial
Hospital Foundation was
formed in 1981 to pro-
mote good health through
outstanding local medical
care and to encourage and
assist young people to en-
ter careers in medicine
through scholarships. It

tions given to aid in grants
and scholarships are tax
deductible. Please con-

to help fund much-needed

at the historic Hardman
Cemetery in preparation for
Memorial Day weekend.
Lawnmowers, weedeaters,
and tractors with bush-
hog mowers moved in
and in short order had the
cemetery-looking ship-
shape. Lodge members

care and maintenance of

Independent Order of Odd
Fellows and has graves
dating from 1888 to the
present. Several century-
old gravestones have very
decorative and unusual
inscriptions, with many
pioneer families interned
there. Many thanks to all
who helped out with the
clean-up.
