Good News Only by Doris Brosnan The setting was George Fox College, the event was the Northwest College Championships, and we know who was there to help Whitworth University place second among nine track teams…. Mary Ann Elguezabal shares a delightful, warm-feeling story: [On May 1] “I came home from a Mustang softball game (we won!), and when I got to my front door, I saw a beautiful bouquet of home-grown ÀRZHUV,UHPHPEHUHGLWZDV0D\'D\,DOPRVWFULHG because I remember doing that with my children! I thought this would be a short-term move, but she fell in love with Texas. We loved visiting her in Austin and made many trips during these past nine years. They will be living with Mark and me while Rudy looks for a job in the PNW as a welder. Mahaley will be working remotely with the company uShip out of Austin, Texas. We are thrilled to have them back home!!!” Reminiscing and laughing were the most abundant activities last weekend when Doris Brosnan joined col- lege friends Ferne Healy (also a local school friend), from Roseburg, and Roberta “Bert” Donaldson, from Champoeg, on a trip to Baker City to reconnect with two more college friends, Dee Becker, and Judy Head. Even the wet weather did not dampen their pleasure in sharing time and memories, and they found a window of time for exploring some Baker City downtown shops and touring the town. A visit with Pat Prock, Ferne’s sis- ter, in Pendleton on their return trip was a great topper to a great weekend!
