+HSSQHU*D]HWWH7LPHV+HSSQHU2UHJRQWednesday, March 20, 2024 -- SEVEN Senior Meals and St. Patrick’s Heppner SDA Church to Day Committee Hosts Free KRVWµ0LQG¿W¶$SULOWKWK Breakfast Event A four-part series for mental health In a heartwarming dis- play of community spirit, the South Morrow Co Se- nior Meals, in collaboration with the St. Patrick’s Day Committee, hosted a free breakfast event that served 180 attendees from 9 am to 1 pm. The event, held on St. Patrick’s Day, featured an array of delicious dishes prepared by the talented Jodi and Todd Seagraves, brother and sister, whose culinary skills left attendees raving about the meal. Adding to the charm of the occasion were the volunteers, many of whom were seniors revisiting their days as waitstaff. Their dedication, enthusiasm and laughter contributed to the warm and welcoming at- mosphere that permeated the event. The hard-working board of Seniors Matter rounded RXWWKHVWD൵7KHDPD]LQJ family of Jamie Mullins managed the dishwashing and mopping. Attendees were treated not only to a delightful meal but also to the joy of community camaraderie, as neighbors and friends came together to celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and support one an- other. Many brought their whole families and out of town guests. 5HÀHFWLQJ RQ WKH VXF- cess of the event, organizers expressed gratitude to all who contributed, from the volunteers who generous- ly gave their time to the sponsors who helped make the event possible. The free breakfast served as a shin- ing example of the power of community and the spirit of giving back. MCSD forms Community Bond Advisory Committee Morrow County School District and its Board of Directors is excited to an- nounce the formation of a Community Bond Advisory Committee for the Pre- Bond Process. The com- mittee, which is composed of 21 community members from Boardman, Heppner, Lexington and Irrigon, will be charged with considering various options for submit- ting a potential capital con- struction bond to voters in May 2025. The committee will meet monthly through December 2024 when they will submit their recom- mendation to the School Board. The committee is composed of the following community members: Zac Acock, Doris Bros- nan, Luis Campos, Andrew Cemore, Dave Cooley, Pa- mela Cutsforth, Jose Due- nas, Frances Glenn, Torrie Griggs, Brett Harrison, Jan Huddleston, Karla Jimenez, Angela Jones, Tia McNa- mee, Sue Oliver, Brandi Orem, Michelle Patton, Lisa Pratt, Madison Rosen- balm, George Shimer, Lisa Wedam, Gina Wilson The Morrow County School District Board of directors recently adopted the following goals as part of the Pre-Bond Process: 1. Ensure all buildings are structurally safe. 2. Extend the life of our buildings for future generations of students. 3. Be the Eastern Oregon leader for CTE and STEAM programs. 4.
