Sophomore Hallee His- ler topped the podium in the 200-meter with her personal record of 26.80a. Hisler also took second in the 400-meter with a PR of 1:00.57a, as well as fourth in the 100-meter with a time of 13.20a. While not grabbing championship titles, other Heppner athletes also rep- resented their hometown well. The women’s 4x400 relay team of Arianna Worden, Irelynn Kollman, Lily Nichols and Hallee Hisler placed second with a time of 4:19.84a. Freshman Lily Nichols placed fourth in the 1500 at 5:05.15a, fifth in the 800 with a PR of 2:29.59a and fifth in the 300m hurdles at 50.40a. Junior Arianna Worden placed fourth in the 3000-meter with a personal record of 11:43.07a, as well as eighth in the 1500-meter. Right behind Worden in the 3000 was freshman Riley Archer, who took fifth place with a personal record of 11:44.16a. Archer also placed 11 th in the 800-meter with a personal record of 2:37.28a. Junior Irelynn Koll- man placed sixth in the 1500-meter with a PR of 5:10.20a, as well as eighth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:34.24a. The men’s relay team of Jacob Finch, Owen Cun- ningham, Hayden McMa- hon and Trevor Nichols placed fourth in the 4x400 with a time of 3:40.53a. Senior Jacob Finch secured sixth place in the 800-meter with a time of 2:09.66a. Freshman Gage hart placed seventh in the 3000-meter with 9:37.76a and twelfth in the 1500 at 4:38.29a. Ione athletes compete at state track meet Ione athletes Bryce Rollins and Henry Giefing represented Ione at the OSAA 1A State Champi- onships at Hayward Field in Eugene last week. Senior Bryce Rollins placed 10 th in shot put with a distance of 12.11m. Freshman Henry Gief- ing earned his placed on the podium when he placed fifth in the 100 meter at 11.72a, seventh in the 200 meter with 23.95a and fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.93m. Byers, Black make good showing at state Irrigon’s Jaton Black and Jozen Byers represent- ed the Knight track and field team at the OSAA 2A State Championships last week and didn’t disappoint. Sophomore Jaton Black placed fourth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.68a. Senior Jozen Byers was fifth in the pole vault with a distance of 3.35m. a loss to Kennedy in the quarterfinals last Friday. Kennedy has a zero-loss record for the season and is ranked first in both 2A/1A state and Special District 2. Despite the loss, it was a successful season for the Mustangs, who ended the season with a 13-2 league record and 20-6 overall. The Heppner/Ione com- Riverside’s Boyd takes 3A championship in javelin Pirate track and field athletes traveled to the OSAA 3A State Champi- onships at Hayward Field in Eugene last week and found their way to top spots on the podium, including a 3A state championship in javelin for senior Tyrese Boyd. Boyd secured the top spot with a personal record throw of 56.67m. Boyd also placed third in the high jump with a PR of 1.83m. In track events, soph- omore Pedro Chavez took second in the 400-meter with a personal record of 50.35a. Chavez also took seventh in the 200-meter at 23.18a. Riverside’s only wom- en’s participant at state, se- nior Alexis Partlow, placed tenth in discus with a throw of 25.97m. DEADLINE: MONDAYS AT 5PM playoffs and ended the sea- son ranked eighth in 2A/1A state. After receiving a bye on the first round of play- offs, the Mustangs won their second-round play- off game against North Douglas/Elkton 4-0 last Wednesday before their loss to Kennedy May 26. The Oregon City 4x100 relay team took third at the OSAA 6A State Champion- ship in Eugene last week. Starter for that team is Re- ese Weygandt, daughter of Annie (Hisler) and Evan Weygandt. Reese is the grand- daughter of Paul and Susan Hisler, Brenda Young and John and Becky Weygandt. Columbia Blue golf tournament results On April 10, 98 players participated in the Colum- bia Blue Senior Golf Asso- ciation Tournament held at the par-70 Big River Golf Course in Umatilla. Results are as follows: Columbia Division (0 to 15 Handicap) First place on the gross side went to Jason Ward from Beacon Rock with a score of 77. First place on the net side went to John Machado from Big River with 85, with a 15 handicap, for a net score of 70. Willow Creek Country Club members placing on the gross side were: fourth, Dennis Peck with a score of 81; fifth (tie), Duane Disque and John Boyer with scores of 83; seventh, Scott Burri- ght with a score of 84. On the net side were: third, Berry Munkers with an 82, with a 10 handicap, for a net score of 72; fifth, (tie), Tim Wright with a 83, with a 10 handicap, for a net score of 73 and Jim Swanson with a 88, with a 15 handicap, for a net score of 73; eighth, Dave Pranger with a 87, with a 12 hand- icap, for a net score of 75. Blue Division (16 to 20 Handicap) First place on the gross side went to Stan Brock from Beacon Rock with a score of 82. First place on the net side went to Bill Feder from The Dalles Country Club with 89 with a 18 handicap for a net score of 71. W.C.C.C. members placing on the gross side were: second, Tom Shear with a score of 89; fifth, John Kilkenny with a score of 91. On the Net side: fourth, Curt Day with a 91, with a 18 handicap, for a net score of 73; sixth, Dave Gunderson with a 92, with a 18 handicap, for a net score of 74. Senior Division (21 and over Handicap) First place on the gross side went to Scott Rood from Beacon Rock with a score of 88. First place on the net side went to Gary Mercer from Big River with a 91, with a 24 hand- icap, for a net score of 67. W.C.C.C. members placing on the gross side were: second, Jeff Cuts- forth with a score of 89; eighth, Gary Watkins with a score of 98. On the net for W.C.C.C. were: sixth (tie), Larry Sample with a 96, with a 24 handicap, for a net score of 72 and Curtis Cutsforth with a 103, with a 32 hand- icap, for a net score of 72.
